Overview

TAGDev 2.0

The Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) programme is a 10-year initiative designed to strengthen African universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to better serve communities by skilling and empowering young people to contribute to inclusive, equitable and climate-resilient transformation of agriculture and agri-food systems.

The programme builds on the experience of TAGDev 1.0 and places greater emphasis on employment and livelihood opportunities, entrepreneurship, innovation, climate adaptation, institutional transformation and inclusion.

TAGDev 2.0 is implemented through collaboration between the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), the Mastercard Foundation, the Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and Life Sciences (GCHERA) and participating African universities.
